CHRISTMAS TREE

BABEL OF THE OCEAN #NATURE TAKES IN

Joyful festive season is around the corner. This year, The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon's Christmas tree symbolizes our wish for a sustainable future.

We celebrate this year's festive season with sustainability being a key theme throughout; contemporary artist Akira Fujimoto has exclusively designed an art, ‘Babel of the Ocean #Nature takes in' for our Christmas tree display at the lobby.

Discarded articles, whether anthropogenic or naturally occurring, overflow their way into the ocean and drift ashore to coastlines across the borders. The artist collects such marine debris and utilizes to create works of art - ‘Babel of the Ocean' is one of his evolving projects using the debris, raising environmental concerns around the globe. ‘Babel of the Ocean #Nature takes in' drew inspiration from coastal plants growing out of the waste and gradually becoming a part of the ecosystem. It was created using the iconic evergreen plants that are displayed in the hotel lobby.
